18th NRB - August 15-20 , 2011:

Bergen - Geiranger - Loen - Fjærland - Voss
The conference started out in Bergen with a session on the coastal express boat to Geiranger. From Geiranger with bus to Loen were two days were spent on scientific sessions and a field trip to the Kjenndalen glacier incliuding a boat trip on Loen lake. In the early 20th century this valley experienced two catastrophic rock slides that killed 135 persons and is the worst natural catastrophes in Norway. From Loen the group went to Fjærland and the Glacier Museum were another session were hold. The symposium ended at Voss after a boat trip to Flåm and railway from Flåm to Voss.
The main theme of the 18th NRB symposium was
Methods for measuring, collecting and assimilating hydrological information in cold climate.
10th NRB - August 28 to September 3, 1994:
Tromsø - Longyearbyen - Ny-Ålesund
Tromsø - Longyearbyen - Ny-Ålesund
The conference started out in Tromsø with a visit at the Polar Museum and went by plane to Longyearbyen were the first session were hold. From Longyearbyen by boat to Ny-Ålesund and the remaining session. The group returned to Longyeabyen by boat and plane and returned to Tromsø the following day after a conference dinner in Longyearbyen.
The theme for the symposia was:
Basin hydrological processes with emphasis on (i) water supply in permafrost areas; (ii) Erosion and sediment transport in permafrost areas, and (iii) Transport of pollutants in Arctic hydrological systems
